NEW RELEASE • MAY 11 2026
Productive 5.0 – The New Standard of Work Is Here
The update we’ve been preparing for months is finally here. Productive 5.0 is our biggest and most impactful release yet.
We’re bringing a range of agentic features designed to make your business more competitive. It’s AI that truly makes an impact in how you work.
Want to check them out? If you haven’t already, join the waitlist for Productive 5.0 here.
Agents
Agents are your custom-built, virtual assistants. They work across the entire platform and take repetitive tasks off your plate, so you can focus on work that really makes matters.
- Agents are custom: Describe how they should work, assign them permissions, and give them Connectors to read data and perform actions across external services.
- Agents are autonomous: You can set them to run on a schedule, and they’ll carry out tasks in the background. You can also talk to them directly and approve workflows manually.
- Agents are shareable: Agents are designed to be shared across your organization, so you set them up once, and everyone can benefit. Of course, you can also keep them private if needed.
Agents are very powerful, and there’s a lot to discover about them: Check out our Help Center.
Skills
In simple terms, Skills are a saved set of instructions for AI. You put your knowledge, business procedures and workflows into one prompt, and then share it across your business.
The benefit? You never have to repeat yourself, and everyone on your team gets access to high-quality prompts to work faster and better.
- Just describe what the AI should do, how it should respond, and what to avoid—that’s your Skill.
- Skills can be used individually, but also shared, so everyone can use it in their own Agents and daily work.
- Skills are usually specialized for a single workflow: for example, a Skill that creates a prioritized list of daily tasks. Or, a Skill that checks whether timesheets are complete and correctly filled out (see more examples).
- Skills are used across the whole platform: You can call up a Skill in the AI Assistant, build them into Agents, or even let AI consider when to use them automatically.

Connectors
Now you can bring AI into your whole tool stack. Connectors allow you to connect Productive to external services that support the Model Context Protocol, so AI can read, fetch data, and act across them.
- Productive comes with built-in Connectors, so you can link your accounts and get started, including HubSpot, Notion, Slack, and more.
- You can also connect fully custom Connectors, as long as your services support the Model Context Protocol.
- Like Skills, you can work with Connectors in the AI Assistant or enable them in Agents, so you can work uninterrupted from a single workspace.
MCP Server
We know some of you have been waiting for this one: You can now work in Productive from your favorite LLM client, including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and more.
Without further ado, here’s how you can connect the MCP server.
Notetaker
Productive’s Notetaker is like an entirely new product, except it’s integrated right into your workspace. You can keep all your meeting notes in one place, and turn action items into structured tasks and to-dos to make sure the follow-up work actually gets done.
- Connect your Calendar and join every meeting, or choose which ones should be recorded.
- Get a full transcript with AI-generated meeting summaries and action items pulled right out of the conversation.
- Link your meeting notes to Projects and Deals, and turn them into tasks and to-dos directly in Productive to make sure no information is lost.
AI Assistant
The AI Assistant is bigger and better than ever. Now it works across all modules in Productive, so you can manage resources, create time entries, build budgets, update your CRM and build proposals, and much more.
The best part is bulk actions — any time you need to create or update multiple things in Productive at once, doing it in the Assistant speeds the process up considerably.
Additionally, the Assistant works with all new features, so you can use it to build Skills and Agents, work across tools with Connectors, search for meeting notes, and more.
Productive AI
And there are even more improvements across our existing features:
- AI Time Tracking: Convert calendar events into time entries automatically. Productive matches them to suitable Services based on past time tracking.
- Report Intelligence: When you need specific insights, you can now just ask the AI Assistant for it. Productive will interpret your data and deliver a summary in plain language. You’ll also get a full report, so you can double check the numbers yourself.
- AI Summary: We’ve built in two prompts in your Projects and Deals, so you can get executive summaries in one click. Choose between a quick overview of Tasks and Deals, or a big-picture view into Project health and Pipeline performance.
Other Features & Improvements
And there’s more. While the team has been tirelessly working on AI, we’ve also dedicated time to making Productive’s core functionalities better. Here’s what’s new:
- Here’s a big one: You can now assign Services to Tasks in Productive. This means that project managers can preselect Services when creating Tasks, simplifying time tracking for team members.
- You can now add comments directly to the Project Activity tab, for better communication and collaboration.
- The Resourcing tab in Projects can now be edited just like your normal Resourcing view: Add new fields and sort it however you prefer.
- Communication in Tasks just got better đź’Ż. Emojis can now be added through autocomplete and converted from text input.
- You can now update a task’s feed from the email: Just copy a unique email address from each task, and send your update to it. It will appear in the feed, along with any attachments. This works for non-Productive users as well.
- You can now search for Folders and Task lists, and navigate directly to them.
- In the CRM, you can now use the Domain field to add one or more domains associated with the company.
- In Proposals, when a Deal note is different than a Document template’s note, you can now use the Sync note action to update the note to the template default.
- You can now add multiple Contacts to a Deal / Budget: Especially useful for more complex deals involving multiple people on the client side.
- We have a couple of improvements to Time Tracking policies: Choose the option to prevent time entries from overlapping, archive policies instead of deleting them, and see the total count of people assigned to a Default policy.
- Report-heavy organisations will now see a little Tidy up popup in their Reports — Productive will list inactive reports across time periods, with a Delete action for decluttering your reporting.
- In Reports, the Services filter can now show all Services, including delivered Budgets, with a toggle.
- We’ve made minor UX updates to the Deals header on the mobile app, to make information more visible and easier to update.
- When updating your view in the List and Board layout, changes will be saved automatically for a less intrusive experience.
