ABOUT THE JOB
Our Engineering department has grown significantly over the past couple of years—and we’re continuing to scale. To support this growth, we’re looking for another experienced Engineering Manager to help our engineers thrive and contribute to building an engineering organization.
As our Engineering Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we work, lead one of our product teams of 5–10 engineers, and ensure they have the support and structure needed to do their best work.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
Your primary responsibility is to make sure the team is healthy and successful. You’ll help team members improve their engineering, communication and organizational skills and guide them through career advancement expectations and opportunities.
With the Product Manager and Product Designer in your team, you will work on new features and product updates. While the Product Manager is responsible for the research and design phase, you’re responsible for the development and release phase of those features. You’ll organize team planning and other ceremonies like roadmap grooming, bug triage, retrospectives and similar.
It’s expected that you can go low level and write PRDs, System Design documents, review and occasionally write code. Coding will not be your daily activity, but it’s important that you can do it because it will help you understand the development process and our technical architecture much better. That’s why you’ll go through a complete technical onboarding in the first 6 months in the role.
You’ll report to the VP of Engineering and participate in various engineering management initiatives that will improve our organizational processes. For example, you could work on our Progression Framework, which constantly evolves as the company grows. Every 6 months, you’ll conduct performance reviews and calibrate them with other EMs.
You’ll evolve the company’s employer branding strategy and optimize the existing hiring process to support our growth targets.
ABOUT YOU
