Productive Updates June: New Automations, Status Sync, Simple Budget Editor

As we head into summer season, we’re still not exactly backing down when it comes to new feature we released in June.

You can also check out What’s new – a brand new place where you’ll find all the latest updates.
Let’s dive in and see what’s new.

Relative “Date” Field in Automations

Last month, we added a new feature that lets you use relative “people” values (like a project manager or automation creator) in the assignee, person, or subscriber fields.

Now the same logic is applied to the “date” field, which allows you to create date-specific automations, like:

  • Send a Slack message if an Invoice is two weeks overdue
  • Create a if a high priority Deal was created last week
  • Comment on a Task if its status was changed yesterday

What’s more, now you can add a new condition when creating Automations – select if you want to automate Tasks or Subtasks.

New In Budgets: Create Budgets Faster With The Simple Budget Editor

If you are working with only one billing type for your services, be it Time and materials, Fixed or Non-billable, the simple editor might help you create those budgets more efficiently.

Also, there are a few new settings available in Settings > Budget, e.g. you can set the default state of the “Create a budget with simple editor” checkbox, whether you want it checked or unchecked by default.

If you are using the Advanced Editor, you can now turn off the creation of Open Hour and Open Expenses services that come with every newly created Budget.

Also, you can now choose to copy expenses when using recurring budgets.

No Limits on Reports

Try not to hear 2 Unlimited’s iconic “No Limit” in your head while reading this – but we’ve removed the limit for the number of saved reports you can have in your account.

Speaking of Reports, the Financials report will now show Budget as the default field in table views and when you drill down the report.

Time Off Syncs With Your Status

You can set your status in Productive to let your teammates know if you’re in the office, working from home, or absent.

Now, the status will sync automatically with your Time off categories, meaning that your teammates will instantly know if you’re off.

You can also add attachments when requesting Time off – perfect for documentation HR might request.

Also, we’ve added the Time Off tab to Profiles, where you’ll find all the booked Time off.

New In Time Tracking: Improved Auto Time Tracking; Find Services Easier

If you’re using automatic time tracking, you’ll be notified if you want to turn off tracking for future bookings where Time was previously tracked. This will ensure that automatic time tracking works as expected.

Also, you’ll now find Budget sections when searching for services to track Time against.
