TEA ČONČ, Product manager
Product Management at Productive
From the first time I heard about SaaS products, I wanted to become a SaaS product manager. Four years later, here I am, having the time of my life as part of the Productive Product Team.
My Job
I’m a Product Manager. My job is to understand the needs of our customers so that we’re sure to provide them with the features they need and wish for. That includes collecting and prioritizing feature requests, managing our product roadmap and feature conceptualization, testing and release once new features are developed.
One of the most important things that I need to do is keep everyone informed about new and upcoming features. Customer and competition research and user analytics are a bonus.
My Path to SaaS
After studying history, comparative literature and information science, I worked at the college library for about eight years. Then I got bored, finished IT postgraduate studies, and switched to IT as a Sharepoint consultant (it wasn’t easy as it may seem!). Later I became a business analyst and project manager.

My Typical Day
It’s more like a “typical week”. All department meetings are on Mondays, so that’s when we check what’s been done the previous week and decide on this week’s tasks and assignments.
Then we organize feature related meetings in smaller teams. Of course, ad-hoc meetings and discussions usually occur a few times a day.
On Fridays, we have our “Feature request triage” where we go through this week’s feature requests and customer feedback.
The Team
A bunch of top-notch performers who would make even Elon Musk proud.
Why Productive?
I like that we are focused on one single product. It’s complex, but with time you get the hang of it and become faster and more confident in making decisions.
Secondly, we have great customers. I’m amazed at how clever, understanding and grateful they are – this is not something that many product companies enjoy. When you solve problems for these kinds of people and help their organizations grow – it’s very rewarding.
Last, but not least, Productive has already proven to be a self-sustainable business with respectable organic growth. This fact is super important not only for the owners but for us as employees, too.
